"Which One Of Them"

It is finally feeling like fall instead of winter and I absolutely love it. Nashville is beaaaaautiful this time of year. The sun is out, the rain is gone (for a day or two). The leaves are the brightest colors I have ever seen and one day last week a friend and I went and captured it all on pictures, which are awesome, but do it no justice. Fall also means November has rolled in and has proven to be a busy time and a quick one since we are already on week two and I just realized the month had started.

I have been working hard on writing and recording some new stuff for a new demo so I can get new fans and new gigs. =) The people I have been songwriting with are very talented and we have gotten some great music to put on the record. When it is finished it will be available on the internet and I will let you know where to find it.

I went home this past week to do some things in good ole Mississippi and it turned out to be very, very busy and amazing at the same time. I got to see my fam which is #1. I hadn't seen my sisters in, oh 2 and 1/2 months. If you know me, you know that is a lifetime. If you don't know me, now you know. I played an acoustic show at the one and only Webster's Bar & Grill on Wednesday, Thursday we had an engagement party for a bff and Saturday Edi-Ann (my little sister) had her 4th birthday party where I was designated the 'face painter'.. All while squeezing in a little shopping, a lot of food, and Wii. Such an eventful 5 days, I know.

So it's CMA week here in Nashville and it is insane. People everywhere. Driving home yesterday I was thinking that if Jennifer Nettles would just realize how fun of a girl I am and become my friend I could just go with her. I don't twitter much, but I twittered Mrs. Nettles.
  1. Wish I could be at the CMAs Wednesday. Now would be a good time for Jen Nettles to befriend me. @Sugarlandmusic
  2. I mean, come on, I'm a fun girl. I could double as a date and entertainment. A 2 in 1 package deal. @sugarlandmusic
  3. And you'll need someone to hold all your trophies for the night. That can be my job. @sugarlandmusic
  4. Ok so look pretty. Entertain them two. Hold trophies. Got it. Maybe I should talk to Christian since Jen is not listening. @sugarlandmusic
Yeah.. Jennifer and Christian never messaged me back but soon after that a friend of mine told me one of his friends had a couple tickets on sale so guess who got them! Yep, yours truly! We got them for way cheaper than they started out and it will be total awesomeness. The Country Music Awards are Wednesday night on ABC, which happens to be my Matthew Little's birthday so this is his great present. We are going to dress up and try to look important as we scope out the place for all of our idols. We will get to experience everyone performing and accepting their awards which is nice, but I can't wait until one day I am there on the floor, or on the stage, and I didn't have to pay anything but my dues to get there. =) As my sister says, "We're bring home the gold!" As you may have noticed, each post's title is also the title of a song. I choose it to fit the stories, info, and outline of the blog I had written. "Which One Of Them" was sung by Garth Brooks and is on here as a tribute for coming back into the music industry to perform once again. I also have a feeling he may make an appearance at the CMAs since heeeee's baaaaaaack. =) With today's title we are going to play a little game called "Which One of Them Will Take Home the Win?". After you read, comment and let me know which artist you think will win the category tomorrow night! We'll see who knows their music!

*Remember, it may not be who you want to win. =)
Remember again, that this is only my opinion.

"WHICH ONE OF THEM WILL TAKE HOME THE WIN?"

FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR:
Miranda Lambert
Martina McBride
Reba McEntire
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood
This is a hard one for me. Three of my favorites are in this category and they are not Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift. Miranda Lambert's new album is freaking on fire, Reba has two singles off her new album already, and Martina McBride's new album is amazing. Carrie also has a new record out but the trick here is that none of them except Martina and Taylor had a new album that was released in time for nominations. So, although Miranda could whoop Taylor in a real fight, she won't win this one. As much as I hate it, T-Swizzle will win this and maybe everything she is nominated for.

MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR:
Kenny Chesney
Brad Paisley
Darius Rucker
George Strait
Keith Urban
George is the old dog, Darius is the new one, and then we have the middle of the pack which is probably the tightest running. I would love to see George Strait win it just bc he is a country favorite and everyone loves him. But this year I think it's almost a tie between Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. I'm picking Keith Urban.

NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR:
Randy Houser
Jamey Johnson
Jake Owen
Darius Rucker
Zac Brown Band
I always am curious to see who wins this category and watch for them the next year. I can't get "I'm going out with my boots on" out of my head but I think maybe Darius will win this year because of more singles and longer track record.

VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR
The Eagles
Lady Antebellum
Little Big Town
Rascal Flatts
Zac Brown Band
I'm liking that Lady A is no longer in the newcomer category. Move over R. Flatts, we have a new group in the running and a great one at that. I've heard critics say the other nominees don't have the power behind them like Rascal Flatts does but I disagree. With a recent #1 and a new album out, I'm pulling for the trio with a girl. Lady A!

VOCAL DUO OF THE YEAR:
Big & Rich
Brooks & Dunn
Joey & Rory
Montgomery Gentry
Sugarland
Oh, the sweet smell of victory. Jen Jen and Christian should prepare a speech already. There's not a whole lot of competition considering Big & Rich are no longer together and Brooks & Dunn will also soon call it quits. They might could pull it off since this would be their last as the Brooks and Dunn duo before retiring but I'm pulling for the one and only Sugarland. Duh.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR:
American Saturday Night- Brad Paisley
Defying Gravity- Keith Urban
Fearless- Taylor Swift
Love On The Inside- Sugarland
That Lonesome Song- Jamey Johnson
Oh, why do you do this to me? Putting my favorite and my least favorite head to head knowing the least favorite will probably win since she just re-released Fearless and radio plays her songs every other minute. Sugarland deserves it, Taylor will win it.

ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR:
Kenny Chesney
Brad Paisley
George Strait
Taylor Swift
Keith Urban
The reigning champ in this category is Kenny with 4 wins. Despite this, all eyes will be on Taylor because this country is all about shaking it up and making some history. As long as they can do that, they are happy so I will in advance congratulate Ms. Swift on winning this. Don't be surprised when she freaks out and acts like she had no idea.

Now let me know what you think!
